Carob Banana Shake

A great healthy breakfast shake! One of my favourites. Check out our almond milk recipe to make your own fresh batch. Serves one.

Ingredients

Fresh almond milk 10 oz
Large frozen banana, broken into pieces 1 ea
Protein powder, unsweetened, unflavoured 1 - 2 Tbsp
High omega 3 oil 2 tsp
Carob powder 1 Tbsp
Extract flavouring (vanilla, almond, etc, optional) 1 tsp

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into blender and blend on high speed until smooth.
  2. Pour into a 16-oz glass and enjoy.

Helpful Hints

  1. You can experiment by using a small banana and a handful of berries and by adding other supplements such as an unflavoured greens food powder.
  2. Choose a protein powder that works for your specific diet (hemp, rice, soy, whey, etc).
  3. Examples of high omega 3 oils include flax and hemp. You can
    also try an EFA oil blend. Look for these in your local health food store. Available online at Well.ca, Amazon.com and Amazon.ca.
