Ginger Limeade
About
A refreshing summer drink with a kick of ginger! Makes four to six servings.
Ingredients
Fresh ginger, peeled & grated | 2 inches | |
Grated lime peel | from 2 limes | |
Fresh lime juice | from 2 limes | |
Sugar or stevia powder | to taste | |
Water | 8 cups |
Directions
- Add ingredients together and shake well.
- Adjust sugar or stevia as needed.
- Let sit for one hour and serve.
- For a less potent hit of ginger, filter drink mix after sitting.
Editor’s Notes
- This recipe is tagged as “reduced sugar” but it really depends on how much you use since sugar is listed as “to taste”. I suggest thinking about how much sugar you want per cup and start from there.
- If using the stevia option there will be no sugar in the recipe. Be sure to follow the instructions on the stevia package carefully to ensure you don’t use too much. Stevia can be very potent and you don’t want to overdo it.
- Alternatively one can use a combination of sugar and stevia. This is a good option if you don’t like the taste of stevia by itself. You can add stevia 1/4 teaspoon at a time until drink is half as sweet as you’d like it to be, then add sugar a teaspoon at a time until desired sweetness is reached.
