This easy recipe contains lemon and apple cider vinegar to help with metabolism and digestion. It is meant to be taken with or just before a meal. Ginger helps with digestion and also helps support the immune system. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory and works best when paired with black pepper. Zinc and oregano oil supplements can be added if feeling under the weather or if there is a cold or flu going around. Be sure to follow the dosage and duration indicated on the product you choose.
For some, this combination of ingredients might be hard on the taste buds. Remember that it is just a shot – one gulp. If necessary you can add a touch of honey to help it go down easier.

Ingredients
Lemon juice | 1 - 2 Tbsp ( or use a piece of lemon) | |
Apple cider vinegar | 1 Tbsp | |
Ginger (fresh minced or powdered) | 1/4 tsp fresh or 1/2 tsp powder | |
Turmeric | two pinches | |
Black pepper | a pinch | |
Honey (optional) | to taste | |
Zinc (optional) | use dosage as directed on bottle | |
Oregano oil (optional) | use dosage as indicated on bottle | |
Water | as needed to make one gulp |
Directions
- Mix all ingredients in a small glass.
- Take in one gulp with or just before a meal.
Helpful Hint
If you find apple cider vinegar too strong for your tummy (even with food) you can use the lemon juice on its own.
