Berry Coconut Smoothie

About

If you’re looking for a delicious smoothie that will keep you full all morning and keep your blood sugar stable then this one is for you! This recipe comes from the book Wheat Belly by Dr. William Davis. I kept it as written, but do regularly tweak the ingredients. For example, I usually use a non-dairy yogurt. The other change I often make is using a whole food protein in the form of pasteurized egg white (an amount equivalent to one or two eggs) instead of the whey protein powder. You can try my adaptations or try the original recipe depending on your personal tastes and preferences.

Ingredients

Coconut milk 1/2 cup
Low-fat plain yogurt 1/2 cup
Berries of choice 1/4 cup
Whey protein powder - plain or vanilla 1/2 cup

Ice cubes 4 ea

Directions

Blend all ingredients and serve. If you are on an animal-based diet you can omit the ground flax seeds and add some extra fat of choice.
