Mushroom Gravy
About
This gravy recipe was created by Lorraine Mercedes Picot, R.C.N.P. It goes with her Vegetarian Nut Roast but you can try it with other holiday dishes such as the White Cloud Inn Baked Nut Loaf. Also, check out Lorraine’s Quick Cranberry Sauce.
Ingredients
Fresh mushrooms | 1 lb | |
Cool water | 2 Tbsp | |
Onion, chopped | 1 ea large | |
Whole-wheat pastry flour | 2 Tbsp | |
Garlic, pressed | 3 cloves | |
Cold-pressed oil | 1 Tbsp | |
Hot water | 1 cup | |
Tamari (optional) | to taste |
Directions
- Saute mushrooms, onion and garlic in oil until onion is transparent.
- Add cool water and flour. Stir well.
- Add hot water and tamari if desired. Add more water for thinner gravy. Stir and cook for a few more minutes.
- Serve over nut roast.
