Panfried Cabbage

If you’re looking for a simple, cost-effective vegetable side dish, consider this quick & easy panfried cabbage. Great with sausages, pork chops, grilled tempeh or baked beans! Serves 4.
Ingredients
Oil | 2 Tbsp | |
Butter (or plant-based equivalent) | 2 Tbsp | |
Medium head of cabbage, coarsely shredded | About 12 cups | |
White granulated sugar | 1 tsp | |
Caraway seeds | 1/2 tsp | |
Salt | 1/2 tsp | |
Black pepper | 1/8 tsp | |
Minced parsley | to taste |
Directions
- Heat oil & butter in large skillet.
- Divide cabbage into three equal parts. Add 1/3 cabbage to skillet stirring over medium-high heat. As soon as it starts to cook down, add next 1/3. Continue with final 1/3 and stir until all cabbage is well coated & slightly wilted.
- Sprinkle with sugar. Cook 5 to 10 minutes or until cabbage is delicately browned and crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in salt, caraway seed and pepper. Sprinkle with parsley.
