About

This recipe was found in the shared recipe archives of Dr. D’Adamo’s website – creator of the Blood Type Diet. It is designed to be compatible with Blood Type A. That said, anyone on a vegetarian or vegan diet will enjoy this burger! They are good freshly made or leftover and cold.

Recipe by: Carol M.

Ingredients

Extra firm tofu 1 lb
Cooked brown rice 1/2 cup
Dry bread crumbs 1/2 cup
Chopped scallions 1/4 cup
Egg whites 2 ea
Grated carrots 1/4 cup
Grated low fat mozzarella cheese (or soy cheese) 1/2 cup
Soy sauce 2 Tbsp
Ground walnuts (optional) 2 Tbsp

Directions

  1. Mash tofu.
  2. Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Form patties and sauté in skillet sprayed with olive oil.
  4. Cook until golden.

Editor’s Note

  1. If you are on a dairy-free diet and using the soy cheese option be sure to check the label as some soy cheeses have dairy-based ingredients. Casein, a milk protein, is one example of a common ingredient in soy cheese. Brands that are completely dairy-free are appearing more and more in the marketplace but you should still check the ingredients carefully.
