Piquant Meat Loaf

This is an old recipe from a women’s club in Kincardine, Ontario. An easy-to-make dish for those interested in trying wild game. This recipe can be made wheat-free or gluten-free by using appropriate bread crumbs.
Ingredients
| Dry bread crumbs | 3/4 cup | |
| Milk | 1 cup | |
| Ground moose meat | 1 1/2 lb | |
| Onion, chopped & parboiled | 1 ea | |
| Eggs, slightly beaten | 2 ea | |
| Salt | 1 tsp | |
| Pepper | 1/4 tsp | |
| Sage | 1/2 tsp |
Sauce
| Brown sugar | 4 Tbsp | |
| Ketchup | 5 Tbsp | |
| Nutmeg | 1/2 tsp | |
| Dry mustard | 1 1/2 tsp |
Directions
- Soak crumbs in milk; add meat, eggs, onions and seasoning.
- Pack lightly in greased loaf pan.
- Spread with sauce.
- Bake 1 to 1 1/4 hrs. at 350 F.
